As we know, Samsung is one of the companies to release the update, but for the time being the Android update. However, the South Korean company has a habit of making these updates available to other smartphones progressively during a month. According to a tweet (@henklbr), the December security patch is now available for download to Galaxy S7 edge users in Australia.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge owners who have been accepted in the beta program have already received three Android Nougat beta builds, which contained lots of new features and improvements. Softpedia reported that since there’s no official changelog available yet on the December security patch, there’s no telling what other improvements. In fact, no one knows yet if the handset maker has added any of these things.

The Patched Security Issues

Once you have the notification, you can download and install on your smartphone. Do not forget it fit it is the last security maintenance update of Samsung Galaxy S7 for 2016 according to International Business Times. Here are some of these issues patched are:

  • Mobile Hotspot vulnerability by unprotected intent
  • Heap overflow in sensor driver
  • Notification display error of shade locked state
  • BootReceiver security issue patch
  • Heap overflow in “OTP” service

As these updates always go, you’ll receive a notification saying that your phone has received an update over-the-air (OTA) when it’s ready to download and install. However, if you happen to be impatient and want to check sooner than that, you can of course head to your phone’s settings and manually look for the update that way. You can also check for the update manually by heading to Settings / About phone / Update software.
